About this template
If you’ve ever wondered what you should ask in your first one-on-one with a new employee, this meeting agenda is for you!
To accommodate remote and hybrid work environments, the first set of questions covers working style, and then moves into communication and feedback preferences, career development goals, and expectations for one-on-one meetings going forward. It ends with some personal questions that will help you get to know each other better.

When to use this template
This template is ideal for the first or second one-on-one meeting between managers and direct reports. But it could also be used for initial one-on-one meetings between colleagues or teammates, as it helps people better understand working style and preferences (something that’s super important in a remote work setting!).
Hatica, the company that created this template, is built for engineers, so it’s a great agenda to use with new engineering team members. That said, it also works for almost any team bringing a new person into the mix.
